July 17 2016

Rick had his first 'aggressive' chemo treatment on Monday and it was a long week but he is ready for the second treatment tomorrow.

The fatigue and nausea were manageable, but the pain continues to be a challenge.  Ricks palliative team of Drs are excellent along with his home nurses, but they haven't been able to consistently be on top of the pain.  We are hoping, with the changes made to the meds, better days are ahead.

Tomorrow, as long as Rick's blood work supports another chemo treatment, his infusion will go ahead. We are usually there all day.

The goal is to get through this next treatment and then enjoy two weeks off.  We are hoping to visit Ricks cousins, Larry and Janet at the cottage in Wasaga Beach and then Rick will join in some of the activities planned for our son Michael's stag!
